Business Round-Table #1

Barriers to business engagement with cyber security research

CRANE is funded by the UK EPSRC to strengthen the cyber security research community.  Its core role is as a network connecting UK academics supporting them in their research and career development.  In order to achieve its goals, that work needs challenge from outside, some needs collaboration on facilities and use cases, and when valuable research results are achieved, CRANE will help to achieve impact in the wider world.

In order to develop processes for achieving this, CRANE will hold a series of round-table discussions, online, with a broad invitation to discuss steps forward.

The first round-table will explore what is working well – and critically, areas for improvement – in building engagement between business and government, and the academic research community.  The outcomes will help to inform the evolution of the design of the CRANE work programme, and where relevant will be fed back to UKRI and other parts of government.

The event will be held online, at a date to be announced, in late November 2025
